Dr. Antonio Bianco
Dr. Antonio Bianco is a professor of medicine and a member of the Committee on Molecular Metabolism and Nutrition at the University of Chicago, where he runs a laboratory funded by the National Institutes of Health to study thyroid hormones. He is also a former president of the American Thyroid Association.

This is the medical version of last year’s presentation and is directed at the medical community. In this webinar, Dr. Bianco discusses his book “Rethinking Hypothyroidism: Why Treatment Must Change and What Patients Can Do” and his research, and is followed by a Question & Answer session. Everyone is welcome to join this webinar, however, priority will be given to questions from medical practitioners in the Q & A session.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand why 10-20% of hypothyroid patients treated with levothyroxine still exhibit symptoms of hypothyroidism;
- Understand the utilization of LT3-containing thyroid hormone replacement therapy for this patient group;
- Analysis of the effectiveness and safety of LT3 utilization based on clinical trials.
