Dr. Kelsey Roelofs
Ophthalmologist and Oculofacial plastic surgeon
A panel of thyroid eye disease patients will relate their experiences. Dr. Roelofs will add her comments, followed by a Q&A session.
Dr. Kelsey Roelofs completed her medical education and residency training at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. Following this, she embarked on a one year ocular oncology fellowship at Moorfields Eye Hospital. She is currently completing an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles. She has published over 40 peer-review papers, 19 textbook chapters and was the 2021 recipient of the Bartley R. Frueh Research Award.

Dr. Sana Ghaznavi
Endocrinologist
Dr. Ghaznavi was award the 2023 TFC Research grant. She will be presenting the results of her research project.
Dr. Sana Ghaznavi is an academic endocrinologist whose practice focuses on the management of thyroid nodules and thyroid cancers. She completed her medical school at the University of Alberta, an endocrinology fellowship at the University of Calgary, and a thyroid cancer fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York city. She now works as a clinical assistant professor within the Division of Endocrinology & Metabolism, at the University of Calgary, with a cross appointment to the Department of Oncology.

International Thyroid Awareness Week
World Thyroid Day, May 25th, and International Thyroid Awareness Week, May 25-31, were developed by Thyroid Federation International (TFI). They are celebrated every year by Thyroid patient groups around the world. The theme for 2024 is “Thyroid diseases are NCDs (Noncommunicable diseases)”. Read more about this: Thyroidweek.com
